The Hunter

About

The Hunter follows Brian McPhee, a forty-one-year-old ex-soldier living in isolation deep in Montana’s Bitterroot Range. Disciplined, methodical, and hardened by war, Brian has built a life governed by routine and silence. Each day begins at 5:07 a.m., each action precise, each thought controlled. He watches the world only through the evening news, observing its violence from a distance he believes is safe.
That distance collapses when he learns of the brutal rape and murder of a young teacher, Sarah Kline. The prime suspect, Travis Wayne Cole—a repeat offender—walks free on a legal technicality. The injustice awakens something Brian has long tried to bury: the predator inside him, forged in combat and sharpened by past acts of vigilante retribution.
He begins to prepare. Maps are studied. Routines analyzed. The suspect becomes quarry. Yet as Brian draws closer, doubt creeps in. Is he delivering justice—or feeding the darkness within himself?
Set against the stark beauty of the Montana wilderness,
The Hunter is a psychological thriller about vengeance, morality, and the razor-thin line between justice and obsession.
